Newsletter December 2002

What a year! First of all our new web site. We like it and we hope you do to. The idea of this newsletter page is to keep you up to date with what's happening and when.

So what can I tell you. November will see the Global Positioning System going live in all our cars. This will make us more efficient in getting the closest car to you and enable the driver to take more work. It allows us to extend the area we cover and also offers more security for the drivers should they be involved in an emergency. This, with our new credit card and internet booking systems coming on at the same time, represents an investment of almost £600.000.

Those readers of the News Business section would have also seen that an investment of £1.2m has been made by one of our garages in a fleet of new Skoda Octavia. We believe it is the largest fleet order ever placed with Skoda and will replace some of the older cars at the rate of 2 vehicles a week.

Aqua Cars have also been included in the new edition of “Who’s Who of British Business Excellence” for the growth and success of our company. I don’t know of any other taxi company achieving this, but if you do, let me know.

We have also been given the dealership for Sherif, Digitax and Cygnus taxi meters. For those drivers in the trade, from 1st January 2003 we will be able to sell, maintain and upgrade the meters in your cabs. For more information contact Bruce Hall.

So it will be a busy month for Aqua. Straight after that it will be December, which is always a busy time. For those of you wanting a taxi over the Christmas period we are now taking bookings and now is a good time to do it.

I will be presenting a new newsletter in January, telling you how we get on with all this new technology and will also include some feedback from you.
